VOTE TODAY

Today is the Day! Vote YES for UNIFOR!

We're excited for you and your co-workers. After months of hard work and persistence we're finally here!

Voting opens today at 2:00 PM and we're encouraging everyone to cast their ballots as early as possible.

The chance to vote and secure a union is a rare one. It took years of a collective effort to make this VOTE happen, and frankly you have achieved the nearly impossible. Despite every obstacle thrown your way, you persisted!  We believe you will triumph again with a victory in this VOTE!

We also want to ensure that we clear up as much information about dues: It's crucial to understand that Unifor dues are actually set at 1.35%. The company is using calculations based on a higher percentage, which is not accurate. They’re also not considering that a large number of employees are part-time workers therefore would not be paying union dues based on full time hours but on the hours, they work.

You do not pay dues on bonus, vacation, overtime, WSIB, mat leave or on long term leave. And ALL Dues are tax deductible.

They are also missing an IMPORTANT detail: You will not pay any dues until after you negotiate your first contract, and you vote in favor of it! We firmly believe that you should not pay any dues until you see the benefits from your contract and the majority agree to it.

For example, a part-time production worker who is working 24 hours a week would only pay $13.56 bi-weekly in dues.

PART TIME PRODUCTION @ 24 Hours/ Per Week Dues
Per Hour $0.28
Per Month $27.12
Per Year $352.26

That’s significantly less than what your employer is saying.

If your first contract offers better wages, benefits, and scheduling, the gains will outweigh the dues you pay.

One less shift per week can cost a worker over $600 a month or $7000 a year. This one decision by management costs you many times over what union dues cost.
