We are reaching out today to let you know that this coming week we will be hosting more drop-in meeting. We strongly encourage you to stop in and say hi and if you can, bring a co-worker.

Drop-In Meetings

Location: Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal Airport, Stratus A Room

• Tues., Mar. 1: 10:00–20:00 (10 a.m.–8 p.m.)
• Wed., Mar. 2: 10:00–17:00 (10 a.m.–5 p.m.)

We also wanted to give you a quick update on the campaign and union cards:

• Campaign and Union Cards: At the moment we are getting close to being able to file an application to represent workers at GardaWorld YYC. The threshold we need to meet is a simple majority (50% + 1) based on the total number of employees in the bargaining unit. GardaWorld is not required to provide us with a list, so we do not know a firm number of employees to achieve the simple majority. We are erring on the side of caution in card collecting but we are very close. Once we believe we have covered the simple majority threshold we will apply to the federal labour board to hold a vote amongst all workers to decide whether they wish to stay with CLAC or move to Unifor. We cannot get there without your help. If you have a co-worker who has not signed a union card or you have not yet signed one, please consider using the link below to share with or sign your own. What may seem like just one card, will go along way to ensuring all GardaWorld YYC workers can participate in the democratic vote and have their voice heard.
