Current working conditions at YYC

We have been following along with the news regarding passenger wait times at airports across Canada. We have also heard from workers that increased flight traffic is putting further stress on the YYC workforce specifically.

We want to assure you that should Unifor be successful next week, we will stand with you in challenging both GardaWorld and CATSA to respect your collective agreement and ensure that any issues of passenger abuse are dealt with swiftly. Our model is one of follow through and communication, so you know where a grievance is or how we intend to deal with a specific issue.

You provide a critical service to the airline industry and passengers. We understand the skies are safe because of the work you do and we'll fight to make sure you get the respect and agreement you deserve.

Facts over Rumours - Retirement Security Choice

We encourage everyone to make an informed decision as we approach the vote. Unifor is not here to divide the membership and we respect those that have continued to support CLAC.

Your retirement security vehicle will be your choice. Should you choose Unifor next week, you will NOT be placed directly in RRSP plan that Regina has. You will democratically choose the pension plan you wish to be in. At Unifor, we believe in giving our members choice rather than shoehorning you in to a single plan with no options.

CLAC might suggest otherwise, but there would be no point in Unifor launching this campaign unless we felt we could be a better union for you, both in bargaining AND representation.

Remember, your collective agreement, benefits and pension will be yours and Regina’s will be theirs. The tiers of airports aside, we respect that these are two different workplaces with unique sets of priorities. We also respect your ability to determine what is best for you. We’re here to move forward with you, not backwards.
