Congratulations!

Workers at GardaWorld YYC have voted to join Unifor!

Voting took place electronically over the past 72 hours from May 16 to May 19, 2022. A majority of the 673 eligible workers voted in favour of joining Unifor. The final results were 354 in for Unifor and 211 for CLAC, with 2 abstentions and 567 total votes cast.

In the coming weeks, Unifor will focus on electing workplace representatives and continue with ongoing membership outreach as we move towards bargaining your first Unifor collective agreement.

We also want to acknowledge the CLAC supporters in the workplace. We fully understand this is not your preferred outcome, but we want you to know that we will work with all members in solidarity moving forward.

What's next?

We are currently awaiting the certification from the CIRB so we will officially become your union. However, we will be making requests for full contact information for the membership from GardaWorld so we can get moving as soon as possible. We need this information to ensure all members can fully participate in their union. We also need to certification to officially represent you.

GardaWorld YYC join aviation workers across Canada.

GardaWorld YYC workers will join with 16,000 Unifor members working across Canada in the aviation sector.

Unifor is Canada's largest union in the private sector, representing 315,000 workers in every major area of the economy. The union advocates for all working people and their rights, fights for equality and social justice in Canada and abroad, and strives to create progressive change for a better future.
