GardaWorld Application Update 3

Good evening GardaWorld YYC workers,

This week at YYC & next outreach steps

We've been spending this week continuing to connect with GardaWorld workers at the airport and by phone. The response continues to be great, in fact, we are continuing to sign union cards and building more support. With this in mind, if you know someone who is not receiving communication from Unifor, you simply share the link below and they can sign up to receive emails.

CIRB Application Update

As mentioned in our last communication. GardaWorld provided a full employee list as required by the CIRB last week. Following the process both CLAC and GardaWorld had the opportunity to respond to our application by April 4.

GardaWorld has indicated they have nothing to contest with Unifor's application.

CLAC did file their response on April 4 and requested the CIRB review the membership evidence (union cards). This is a common response in these type of applications and the resposne contained no challenges. They also had the opportunity to provide any evidence that a worker was "coerced" into signing a Unifor card. Of course, there were unable to present this evidence because together we have conducted a campaign of respect and inclusiveness since the beginning.

Unifor's response is due on April 11 and the letter of understanding from the CIRB is due on April 13. We do not anticipate the CIRB issues a letter of understanding prior to April 13, however we intend to file our response before April 11.

COMPLETED Weds. March 30 – Deadline for Employer to provide employee list of eligible voters

Mon. April 11 – Deadline for Unifor to respond to both the Employer and CLAC’s responses
