CIRB Application Deadlines

If you missed the previous email, we wanted to remind everyone of the upcoming deadlines set out by the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB). A party could respond earlier but this the maximum timeline. We do anticipate a vote sometime the week of April 18 under these deadlines. We’ll keep you posted as we move through the process.

Weds. March 30 – Deadline for Employer to provide employee list of eligible voters

Mon. April 4 – Deadline for Employer and CLAC to provide response to the Unifor application

Mon. April 11 – Deadline for Unifor to respond to both the Employer and CLAC’s responses

Weds. April 13 – Deadline for CIRB Industrial Relations Officer to provide a Letter of Understanding to the parties regarding all positions.

Phone Calls

We have been continuing to reach out to GardaWorld workers by phone to make sure everyone has the opportunity to ask their questions and get answers. This has been going very well and workers are excited to get the opportunity to vote to join Unifor! We’ll be continuing these outreach efforts this week.

Benefits

We wanted to remind folks of our benefits position. We will maintain your existing coverage and premium levels during the transition to Unifor, plus we will begin improvements during bargaining to health benefits without increasing premiums. Members decide the areas for improvement—not union staff or an entity outside the workplace. You can read more here.
