Good afternoon GardaWorld YYC workers,

Transition Update

Unifor representatives met with CLAC and GardaWorld today. All parties are working towards a smooth transition. This includes benefits and outstanding grievances.

CLAC has confirmed they will continue to cover your benefits until midnight on May 31, at which point Unifor will pick up the benefits coverage at the exact same levels as you currently have and continue until negotiations are completed. This will avoid the issues you experienced with the Teamsters.

We have also been in conversation with GardaWorld around the shift bid issues and interpretation on the language. More to follow on this.

We recognize there are a number of questions, more information will be made available in a day or so on this as we finalize the agreements with the providers regarding benefits and take carriage of the grievances.

Additionally we anticipate obtaining the full employee contact information from GardaWorld either today or tomorrow. Once we have this we will begin the process of nominations and elections.
