MHRTH Ten Months In: Let’s Talk About What Comes Next
It’s been ten months since many of you at Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall (MHRTH) reached out to Unifor—frustrated with how decisions were being made without your input, and ready to work together for fairness and a real voice in your workplaces.
Since then, about 25% of workers have signed confidential Unifor membership cards. Others have signed up to stay informed, but haven’t yet taken that final step. We know it’s not because you don’t care—it’s because you’re busy. Whether it's raising a family, working a second (or third) job, or pursuing your music and passions, time is scarce.
But what if carving out a little time now could help reduce your stress later?
What if negotiating better schedules, hours, wages, benefits, and more respect at work actually gave you more time and stability in the long run?
We’re also approaching a key deadline:
Union membership cards are only valid for one year. That means the first cards signed will begin to expire soon. Once they do, they’ll need to be signed again to count toward the legal threshold. Rather than go backwards, let’s build on the momentum already started.
Let’s work now to reach the majority of support needed to trigger a confidential vote—so every single worker has a chance to decide for themselves if they want to move forward together with Unifor.
Have things really changed at MHRTH?
Are decisions still being made without your input?
Do you feel you have a say in what affects your quality of life?
If not, it’s time. Talk to a coworker. Talk to us. Let’s move forward together.
Join the movement. Sign your card. Start the change.
