Parkview Vote Details

Vote will be Tuesday

The Ontario Labour Relations Board (OLRB) ordered an electronic vote to take place on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 on the application to decertify your union at Parkview Transit.

This vote will be critical

After two failed attempts by a small group of your co-workers, Unifor is ready to stand with the majority of you and put this to a vote! We have had many conversations with our members over the last month and we are confident that your support for Unifor is strong. More and more people over the weeks have said that, although not perfect, the need for the union is paramount - and as we start to prepare for bargaining, they are not willing to give up increased wages, benefits or working conditions.

We would like all of you to join us for a town hall meeting to discuss the upcoming negotiations, the current application and anything else you would like to raise. Details of the town hall below.   

Vote details

The vote will commence at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 and continue until 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Thursday, February 18, 2021.

The OLRB conducts the vote. The board works with an independent, impartial provider who is experienced and has conducted votes for other unions, government agencies, municipalities, and political parties.

The process and the system are the same as an in-person vote, it’s confidential and your employer will never know how you voted.

Eligible voters will receive a personal identification number ("PIN") by email before the vote commences. The PIN is strictly for personal use and must not be shared with anyone. This is your assurance that the vote is confidential.

Neither Unifor nor the employer, or anyone involved with this process, will ever know how you voted.

ਓਨਟੇਰੀਓ ਰਿਲੇਸ਼ਨਜ਼ ਬੋਰਡ (ਓ ਐੱਲ ਆਰ ਬੀ) ਨੇ ਪਾਰਕਵਿਊ ਟਰਾਂਜ਼ਿਟ ਵਿਖੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਯੂਨੀਅਨ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣਨ ਰੱਦ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਅਰਜ਼ੀ ’ਤੇ ਮੰਗਲਵਾਰ, 16 ਫਰਵਰੀ, 2021, ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਇਲੈਕਟ੍ਰਾਨਿਕ ਵੋਟ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।

ਇਹ ਵੋਟ ਅਹਿਮ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ 

ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਹਿਕਰਮੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਛੋਟੇ ਜਿਹੇ ਗਰੁੱਪ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦੋ ਨਾਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਯੂਨੀਫੋਰ “ਅਸੀਂ ਇੱਥੇ ਕੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ” ਸਵਾਲ ਬਾਰੇ ਵੋਟ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੈ। ਪਿਛਲੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕਈ ਵਾਰੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ-ਵਟਾਂਦਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਯੂਨੀਫੋਰ ਲਈ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਹਿਮਾਇਤ ਮਜਬੂਤ ਹੈ। ਪਿਛਲੇ ਹਫਤਿਆਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਧਦੀ ਤਾਦਾਦ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਸਭ ਕੁੱਝ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਠੀਕ ਤਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਯੂਨੀਅਨ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਸਰਵੋਤਮ ਹੈ – ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਸੌਦੇਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ ਹਾਂ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਧੇ ਹੋਏ ਵੇਤਨ, ਭੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਦੇ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਤਿਆਗਣ ਲਈ ਰਾਜ਼ੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ।

ਵੋਟਾਂ ਮੰਗਲਵਾਰ, 16 ਫਰਵਰੀ, 2021, ਨੂੰ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ 12:00 ਵਜੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਣਗੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਵੀਰਵਾਰ, 18 ਫਰਵਰੀ 2021 ਨੂੰ ਦੁਪਿਹਰ 12 ਵਜੇ ਤਕ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਹਿਣਗੀਆਂ।

ਵੋਟਾਂ ਓ ਐੱਲ ਆਰ ਬੀ ਨੇ ਕਰਾਉਣੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਕੰਮ ਲਈ ਬੋਰਡ ਇੱਕ ਸੁਤੰਤਰ, ਨਿਰਪੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਤਾ, ਜੋ ਤਜਰਬੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਹੋਰਨਾ ਯੂਨੀਅਨਾਂ, ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਅਦਾਰਿਆਂ, ਨਗਰ ਪਾਲਿਕਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਪਵਾ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ, ਨਾਲ ਰਲ਼ ਕੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀ ਆਪ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਵੋਟ ਪਾਉਣ  ਵਾਲੀ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਗੁਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰਦਾਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੀ ਵੀ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿੱਧਰ ਵੋਟ ਪਾਈ ਸੀ।

ਪਾਤਰ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ  ਵੋਟ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਈਮੇਲ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇੱਕ ਪਰਸਨਲ ਆਈਡੈਂਟੀਫਿਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਨੰਬਰ (“ਪਿਨ”) ਮਿਲੇਗਾ। ਪਿਨ ਸਿਰਫ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਨਿਜੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਲਈ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸਣਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਯਕੀਨਦਹਾਨੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਵੋਟ ਗੁਪਤ ਹੈ।
