We hope this message finds you well. We want to thank you for your patience throughout this process. We understand it has been longer than anticipated, but we're pleased to provide an important update regarding the 8.1 Challenge filed by F&P Manufacturing and the next steps to count the ballots.

The Ontario Labour Relations Board (OLRB) announced that the 8.1 Challenge has been dismissed. The decision, outlined in the recent ruling by the OLRB, signifies a significant milestone on your journey to join Unifor.

Here are the key points from the decision:

  • The title of proceedings has been amended to accurately reflect the responding party as "F&P Mfg. Inc."

  • The Board found that the responding party's challenge under section 8.1 of the Act could be relevant and ordered a vote to be held.

  • The ballot box was sealed, and the parties agreed on the bargaining unit description, which the Board considers appropriate.

  • There were discussions regarding the spelling of names on the voters' list, but ultimately, an agreement was reached between the parties.

  • The Board has issued a notice that the ballots be counted, and the results will be shared directly with the parties through a Vote Officer's Report.

With that said, we want to inform you that the ballots in this Representation Vote are scheduled to be counted electronically on:

Date and Time: April 25, 2024, at 3:00 PM Method: Electronic Vote Count

We feel confident that the majority of 809 workers at F&P Manufacturing have voted Yes to join Unifor to bring about long-lasting change and fairness to your workplace.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to your Unifor representatives.

In solidarity,
