Good Evening GardaWorld YYC Workers,

WE’RE ALMOST THERE.

We are very close to being able to file an application with Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) to hold a vote to decide whether you wish to stay CLAC or move forward with Unifor. Essentially, you will be democratically deciding whether you wish to stay with CLAC’s status quo, employer first approach or move forward with strong union that is experienced in dealing with not just GardaWorld and CATSA, but is successful in bargaining winning contracts for our 14,000 members in the aviation sector.

CLAC simply cannot offer that this level of experience or representation. They are a smaller construction based union, marred in bureaucratic processes that have them more concerned about what the employer thinks than their members. They do not know about working airports and after four years and they have not lived up to the expectations of GardaWorld YYC workers.

Over the last few months, we have had a chance to connect with GardaWorld YYC workers, many have stressed their desire to have a strong union will fight for you. We are not afraid to take on a fight and are actively engaged in supporting our 315,000 members in every sector of the Canadian economy.

BUT WE NEED YOU.

To get the representation you deserve we need your help. If you have not already done so, signing a Unifor union card today will ensure you and your co-workers have a strong experienced union on your side. If you have done so, please speak to a co-worker. We have until March 31 to file our application with the CIRB but we need a little more support to push the campaign over the top.

We will be better representatives, we will fight on your behalf and we will bargain improvements in your collective agreement—including benefits—while not going backwards.

This means you come first and have a say in the direction your union goes, including all aspects of your collective agreement.
