Your Role in Strengthening Our Union Efforts at F&P Manufacturing

F&P Manufacturing Workers
Today, I want to talk to you about a critical aspect of our ongoing unionization efforts – workplace mapping. This process is essential in understanding your workforce's composition, including the number of employees, job titles, and various sections of your facility.
Why Is Workplace Mapping Important? Mapping your workplace is a strategic step in ensuring that your unionization efforts are as effective and representative as possible. Currently, we have records of those who have completed union cards, but we do not know your job title or description. For example, if you work on the 16 M Civic Line or 17M CRV subframe, can you email me your complete job title so I can add this info? This is confidential.
We also have limited information about colleagues who haven't signed a union card. By understanding where everyone is and what they do, we can ensure that everyone is getting our messages.
We Need Your Help: To create an accurate map of your workplace, we kindly request you to send along a list of workers who work on your line or in your area. This information is crucial for us to understand the dynamics of each work area and tailor our approach accordingly. Your contribution in this regard is invaluable.
Why This Matters: With a complete picture of your workplace, we can ensure that we accurately know the number of employees and, importantly, verify that we have a significant percentage of card signers in the facility when it comes time to vote. This step is vital in legitimizing our collective voice and ensuring that our efforts to unionize are successful.
Recent Trends: We had a strong start, with many of you signing union cards early on. However, in the past few weeks, we've noticed a slowdown in this momentum. It's crucial now, more than ever, to re-energize our efforts.
We need your help in getting 100 cards:
Our goal for the coming week is to collect 100 more cards from your coworkers who have not yet filled out a union membership card. We know the easiest way for workers to collect cards is by talking with each other about the Unifor advantage. Share this link with them to sign an online membership card.
Reflect on the Need for a Union: I encourage you to consider why you need a union in your workplace. It's about recognizing your true worth and dedication, which we believe F&P management has failed to do adequately. With a union, you have a stronger voice in negotiating for better pay, safer working conditions, and fair treatment.
Unifor's Role: Remember, Unifor is the leading union for Canada's auto workers and auto parts workers. Our track record speaks for itself. Union workers often fare better than non-union workers in terms of wages, benefits, and job security. Joining Unifor means you're not just joining a union; you're becoming part of a family that stands for fairness, respect, and dignity in the workplace.
In Conclusion: Your support in mapping your workplace is a step towards making the gains you deserve. Together, we can make F&P Manufacturing a better place for all of us. We look forward to your cooperation and are here to assist with any questions you may have.
Thank you for your time and dedication to this cause.
