The Unifor Union Difference
If you don't have a union, you already know the boss can do whatever they want. You really don't know from one day to the next what could happen to your pay, your job, or even your workplace.
Without a union, you leave all of your rights outside when you walk through the door to work. But you — and the people you work with — can change this. It's your legal right.
Just as important, it's the organization that mobilizes all of us to make Canada a better place for working people. Whether you work in the Honda plant, at a warehouse or an office or on a university campus, there's only one way to have rights at work and that's to organize a union!
Achieving our goals for Canada's economy will require all of us. Our union is developing ideas informed by our members' day to day experience at work, and the vision of the leadership from the many sectors we represent. Here’s where we start:

Navigating the Road Ahead – Rebuilding Canada’s Powerhouse Auto Sector, offers a comprehensive strategy on how Canada can redefine the auto industry into one built on coordinated, government-driven economic development through concrete policy recommendations that benefit all stakeholders, including workers.
This vision sets out five core pillars for sector development. Each pillar corresponds to ambitious recommendations developed by Unifor’s Auto Policy Working Group: growing the domestic industry, managing the transition to net zero, enhancing the skills needed to succeed, creating high quality, union jobs, and advancing equity and inclusion.
